Youth Camp Questions

◊Where can I find a list of things to bring to a week of camp?
   -Right Here: Summer Info Guide

◊How does the scholarship program work?
-First check with your church about scholarships available, then fill out a SCHOLARSHIP REQUEST FORM.  As funds are available, we will cover the remainder of the fee to make it possible for campers to attend.   Those who have utilized the scholarship program in the past frequently choose to bless future campers by giving back to this fund, which is possible by clicking HERE.

◊When do I have to pay for my child’s camper fee?
-You can pay anytime between now and opening day of camp.  Those who pre-pay will eliminate one step in the registration line.  Please do not send a check during the week before your child will be here, but instead wait and bring the remaining balance to registration.

◊Will Lake Lundgren Bible Camp be a good fit for my child with special needs?
-Please call our Youth Ministries Director (Sponz) at 715-324-5457 to discuss your child’s specific needs.

◊How can I check availability for a particular camp week?
-Check out our home page and scroll down to see how many openings there are for a given week. You can also call (715-324-5457) or email (camp@llbc.org) and we will let you know right away.

◊How do you handle food allergies?
-Our kitchen coordinator makes alternate meals to accommodate most food allergies, and in extreme cases where special food has to be sent and prepared–there is room in our coolers and staff who are willing to prepare the food.  Please Note:  We are NOT a gluten-free, dairy-free, or peanut-free facility.

◊What’s the deal with the buddy system?
-The goal of our buddy system is to introduce campers to new friends and try to keep campers from being excluded from the rest of the cabin.  Please make sure that all buddies in a group are listed on EACH camper’s form.  The regular max buddy group is 5 campers in a single cabin.

◊How does the “Buddy Bonus” work?
-If a returning camper, we’ll call him Joe, invites a friend to camp who is brand new or who didn’t come last summer, then Joe will receive $10 in Camp Ca$h which is redeemable at the canteen, camp store, and craft shop.  Note:  The invited friend must indicate that Joe was the one who invited them.
The Bonus is not available if both campers are brand new to camp.

◊What is the Staff to Camper Ratio?
–We have a 1-3 staff to camper ratio.  For our junior camps, this does not include the assistant counselors that shadow in each cabin (so it’s actually greater that 1-3 for younger campers).

◊Are the campers required to do certain activities during free time?
-No.  Sometimes cabin counselors will organize special activities to develop cabin unity, but free time is the camper’s choice.
